Clean, wash and skin the chicken. Cut it into twelve pieces. Pound peppercorns to a coarse powder. Mix salt, pounded peppercorns and turmeric powder with the chicken pieces. Keep aside for half an hour.Heat oil in a kadai. Add onions and cloves. Stir fry on medium heat till onions are light brown. Add garlic and cook for a minute. Add coriander powder and tomatoes. Cook till oil leaves the sides. Add marinated chicken, curry leaves and half cup water. Cook covered, stirring occasionally, till chicken is cooked. Adjust seasoning and serve hot. |
